गोपनीयता नीति

लागू होने की तिथि September 9, 2026

CareerMap (the 'Company') complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws, and processes users' personal information as described below.

1. Personal Information We Collect

  • Sign-up / login: email address, name, and password (stored encrypted). If you sign up with Google, the name, email address, and profile image Google provides
  • International-student profile (optional, you may skip it): nationality, where you currently live, visa status, TOPIK level, school, major, and expected graduation date
  • Information you enter or create while using the service: work experience, education, resumes, cover letters, job posting details, and application status
  • Original files you upload (kept only if you separately consent): resumes, portfolios, and similar documents
  • Application outcomes: the company, role, and stage (applied, document pass, interview, offer, rejected) you record in your application tracker
  • Automatically collected: service usage records, access logs, device and browser information
  • Reactions to AI output: whether an AI-suggested sentence was used as-is, edited, or discarded, and how much was changed. The sentence text itself is not included.

2. Purpose of Collection and Use

  • Member identification and management, and maintaining your login session
  • Providing AI-assisted cover letter and resume writing, and job posting and company analysis
  • Tailoring documents and job recommendations to your student profile (nationality, visa status, Korean level, major) — which postings you can apply to, and the reading level of the writing, depend on your visa and Korean ability
  • Only where you have separately consented, using content you create or upload (cover-letter expression data and original files such as resumes and portfolios) to improve service quality
  • Producing hiring-outcome statistics — aggregating, in a form that cannot identify an individual, which applicant profiles reached which stage at which companies and roles, and using that as a basis for the analysis and recommendations we give other users. Names, contact details, school names, and the text of documents you write are not included; schools are recorded only as a degree level and a region.
  • Measuring and improving the quality of AI responses, using the reaction records in section 1 aggregated per feature
  • Responding to inquiries and operating and improving the service

3. Retention and Use Period

As a rule, the Company deletes a user's personal information without delay upon account withdrawal, except where retention is required by applicable law, in which case it is kept for that period.

Anonymized expression data you have consented to is retained and used solely to improve the service, in a form that cannot identify an individual.

Original files you upload are kept only where you separately consented, and are deleted without delay when you withdraw that consent or close your account.

Because reaction records contain no sentence text, on account withdrawal only their link to your member identifier is deleted; the records themselves are kept anonymously for aggregate statistics.

Hiring-outcome statistics work the same way — they contain no names, contact details, school names, or document text, so on account withdrawal only the link to your member identifier is deleted and the aggregate data remains anonymous.

4. Entrustment and Overseas Transfer of Processing

To provide the service, the Company entrusts processing to the vendors below; some information is stored and processed overseas.

Account information and the materials you create are stored and managed on servers the Company operates in Korea; no separate external storage is entrusted.

Items transferred: information from Section 1 necessary to provide the relevant service / Time: when you use the service / Method: transmission over networks / Retention: until the purpose of entrustment is fulfilled or the contract ends.

Note: company analysis queries public information from Korea's DART electronic disclosure system; no personal information is transmitted in that process.

  • Google LLC — social login authentication (United States)
  • Anthropic, PBC — AI analysis and document generation from your input (United States)

5. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them

  • You may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information.
  • You can delete your data and withdraw your membership in the in-app account settings, or by contacting us below.
  • You may withdraw consent to the use of anonymized expression data at any time.

6. Destruction of Personal Information

Personal information whose retention period has elapsed or whose purpose has been fulfilled is destroyed without delay. Electronic files are deleted using a method that prevents recovery.

7. Security Measures

The Company applies encryption in transit (HTTPS), per-user data access controls, and the principle of minimal collection to protect personal information.

8. Privacy Officer and Contact

For inquiries, complaints, or remedies regarding the processing of personal information, please contact:

  • Contact: contact@careermap.ai.kr

9. Children Under 14

The Company does not collect personal information from children under the age of 14.

10. Notice of Changes

Any additions, deletions, or amendments to this Privacy Policy will be announced in advance through in-app notices, together with the effective date.

This amendment clarifies the following: (1) the international-student profile (nationality, visa status, Korean level, major) is now listed among the items we collect; (2) the purpose and retention of hiring-outcome statistics have been added; (3) the retention period for original files you upload is now stated.

Announced: September 2, 2026 / Effective: September 9, 2026 (the previous policy applies until the effective date)
